Lee Lambert

Lee R. Lambert, an instructor with ESI International, is recognized as an international authority on business and project management for all technical disciplines in both private and public sectors.

Since 1984 Mr. Lambert has developed and implemented enterprise-wide project management processes as a private consultant for many organizations, a few of which include the U.S. Department of Energy, Citigroup, Niagara Mohawk Power, Battelle Memorial Institute, IBM, Monsanto, and Roche Laboratories. Comprehensive, reality-based, user training curricula with an emphasis on high-performance teams have been integral parts of all of Mr. Lambert’s consulting engagements. He is on the international faculty of the American Management Association’s project management curriculum and on the distinguished faculty of the ESI-USA/George Washington University Master’s
Certificate Program. In 1994 he was selected by UNESCO of Cairo to organize and manage a worldwide conference on research and development management and technology transfer.

During a corporate career that began in 1966, Mr. Lambert held senior management positions in project engineering, staff and organizational development, project management procedures and training, procurement and contracting, MIS, and planning and scheduling with Chicago Bridge & Iron, Lawrence Livermore Laboratory, General Electric Company, and Battelle Memorial Institute.

Mr. Lambert has been honored repeatedly for his efforts in establishing and promoting project management as a recognized and respected profession. He is a highly sought consultant and regularly speaks on a variety of project management-related topics. He has addressed more than 25,000 professionals in twenty-one countries. He has written three books and published 30 professional articles. He is a contributing author to the AMA’s critically acclaimed Handbook of Project Management, providing chapters focusing on the management of research and development and high technology projects—using innovative approaches, including earned value management.

Mr. Lambert has been an active, contributing member to the Project Management Institute (PMI®) since 1978. He contributed to the launching of the PMI®’s Master’s Degree Accreditation Program and was a founding member of the committee that developed and implemented the Project Management Professional (PMP®) Certification Program. He is recognized as one of PMI®’s international ambassadors and is one of PMI®’s most popular workshop and technical paper presenters at its annual Seminar Symposia. During the past 10 years he has been an active member of the Project Management Journal’s Editorial Review Board. In recognition of more than two decades of ongoing support and significant contribution to the profession of project management, the PMI® Board of Directors awarded Mr. Lambert its Distinguished Contribution Award at the PMI® ‘95 Seminar/Symposium in New Orleans. In addition, Mr. Lambert has earned a master’s certificate in project management from the George Washington University.
