Course Overview

With effective communication skills, your technical capabilities could reach even further. Even the best ideas, strategies and work plans must be effectively communicated to have value. This course will teach you techniques for creating high-impact and meaningful communication with colleagues, clients and stakeholders. Through practical exercises, group discussions and case studies, you will learn how to determine your own communication style, identify the style of your audience and adapt your delivery accordingly. This course will provide hands-on practice in crafting persuasive messages, facilitating dialogue and making powerful communications. It will address common communication myths and ways to identify when a miscommunication has occurred. The course also address issues related to communication in a virtual and global environment.

The ‘Higher Value of High-Impact Communications’ were identified as one of the top 10 requirements and development trends for 2010. Driven by a need to make faster, more cost-effective business decisions, the often background skill of effectively facilitating diverse groups to achieve consensus through high-impact communications will be moved to the fore as a key RMD role.
