"Business Analysis Skills: Necessary in Good Times, Crucial in a Downturn"
A thought-provoking, FREE BREAKFAST SEMINAR
Presented by ESI International
Thursday 10th July 2008, Simpson’s-in-the-Strand, WC2R OEU, London
In the past, economic downturns lead to cost-cutting on a massive scale. Once the recovery started though, it took a while for organisations to recover and regain momentum.
Now, in 2008, with business analysis skills available to companies in many industries, there are other ways to cut costs without ‘slash and burn’. Business Analysts can reduce the likelihood of project failures, through careful requirements analysis and working closely with end users. Even without major new projects rolling out, Business Analysts' understanding of business processes and metrics makes them invaluable. They can work with stakeholders to find inefficiencies in current business processes. Removing these will cut costs and leave the business healthier than before, ready to grow again as the gloom lifts.
Business Analysts working on process improvement tap into their rare mix of analytical and people skills to work with diverse groups, who are often disaffected and concerned during a downturn. This seminar will explore the unique set of skills of Business Analysts and how organisations can develop these to make the most of the downturn.
