"The
Six Unspoken Habits of Highly Effective Programme Managers"
A thought-provoking, FREE BREAKFAST SEMINAR
Presented by ESI International
Thursday 22nd May 2008, Simpson’s-in-the-Strand, WC2R OEU, London
Programme Managers are typically responsible for managing large,
strategic engagements and initiatives that often carry a high risk
factor. On these “bet the company” programmes, Programme Managers
manage and coordinate multiple projects, multiple project managers
and a variety of stakeholders that often have competing interest.
Successful Programme Managers not only possess what are considered
to be requisite skills to accomplish certain tasks, they also have
expanded business capabilities. For example, they will have mastered
high-impact team communication, critical thinking and problem solving.
They’ll understand how to effectively use standard financial tools
to assess financial status and to make sound business decisions.
They will be effective mentors and change management agents within
the organisation. Unfortunately, numerous studies have shown that
many programme management professionals lack experience in these
soft-skill areas, which limits their ability to secure and succeed
in the competition for Programme Management positions.
This seminar will address the relevant, practical business skills Programme Managers need to align projects with broader organisational objectives.
