ESI International Project Management Course Materials to Go Fully Digital

New initiative to address digital learning trends, reduce carbon footprint and offer options on accessing course materials.

LONDON, UK – January 13, 2014 ESI International, the world’s leading project management training company, today announced that it will begin offering digital course materials for all classroom training with a phased approach starting from January 20, 2014. Through the use of digital formats instead of hard copy course materials, ESI will be able to provide flexibility and options on how course content is delivered and accessed by course participants. The digital publishing initiative is aligned with addressing the growing demand for digital learning content from ESI customers and course participants globally, and meeting ESI’s green initiatives in minimising environmental impact.

According to Gartner, worldwide PC, tablet and mobile phone combined shipments are expected to reach 2.9 billion units by 2017. The proliferation of lower-priced tablets and their growing capability is accelerating the shift from PCs to tablets.

Instead of bringing bulky course binders to the classroom, course participants can download digital course materials onto their laptops or tablets for reference during class, and access these materials offline prior to the commencement of each programme. All digital course materials have been carefully designed to enhance the learning experience with the following features:

  • Ability to view the materials on any personal device including laptops and tablets
  • Anytime, anywhere access to course material before, during and after class
  • Easy-to-navigate, interactive PDF files
  • Customisable tools and templates
  • Fully searchable text function to aid learning
  • Ability to add electronic notes and highlights

“Prior to the official roll-out of our digital course materials, we conducted a series of pilot tests with course participants to gather feedback regarding the use of the digital materials. Nearly 70 per cent of the respondents rated 8 through 10 on a scale of 1 to 10 for ease of use, and more than half preferred digital content to hard copy materials,” said Alan Garvey, Managing Director for EMEA, ESI International. “This initiative not only addresses the prevailing trend of digital learning by meeting the needs of today’s technology savvy professionals, but it also supports a blended learning environment that is instrumental in improving learning transfer to the workplace.”
