ESI International Illustrates How Learning Sustainment Works

A step-by-step process for getting a higher return on training efforts

LONDON, UK – February 7, 2013 ESI International, the world's leading project management training company, today announced the release of a new white paper titled “The Sustainment of Learning.” The paper outlines a step-by-step process to ensure a higher return on investment for organisations’ training efforts. It illustrates how to apply immediately what is learnt in the classroom on the job.

“Learning adoption should be understood as a change management initiative,” said ESI’s Nicola Amiss, Manager, Strategic Sales, and lead author of the study.

ESI International’s research shows there are three components to establishing a sustainable learning programme: learning assessment, identifying ownership levels and applying appropriate learning application activities.

“Learning sustainment is crucial to organisational health,” said ESI’s Head of Professional Services (EMEA), Peter Cresswell. “In other research, we saw that organisations that engaged in high levels of learning sustainment also had Project Management Offices that enjoyed higher levels of perceived value and maturity.”

In addition to the release of the white paper, ESI has created a tip sheet that shows the top seven tips for learning sustainment.
