One of the most common causes of project failures is a lack of agreed upon, accepted requirements. The Project Manager is responsible to deliver according to the stakeholder requirements, but often, these requirements are hard to elicit and to develop a consensus for, especially in large, multi stakeholder projects. That is where the Business Analyst steps in. In this presentation we define the roll of the business analyst, their role in the requirements process and a brief overview of tools and techniques to be used by them. We will also take a look at the International Institute of Business Analysis and their reference guide, “A Guide to the Business Analysis Body of Knowledge (BABOK)”.
